Join Fenwick Newcastle for the pinnacle of alfresco parties this Summer as it hosts three evenings of seasonal food and live local music atop its smart new restaurant and bar, Roof Thirty Nine. Roof Thirty Nine is also delighted to announce it is now open for online bookings.
Fenwick will host its first ever Summer Rooftop Sessions each evening from Thursday 8th – Saturday 10th July, celebrating talented local musicians, exceptional seasonal food, and an unrivalled view over the city skyline.
Guests can look forward to an evening of live music from Sunderland’s Vandebilt on Thursday 8th, Newcastle’s very own Northern Funker’s Smoove & Turrellon Friday and rounds off with Newcastle singer songwriter Cortney Dixon on Saturday.
Tickets are priced at £50 per person, which includes a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a four-course meal. Guests will arrive at Roof Thirty Nine for 6.30pm, with drinks and dinner served from 6.30pm until 8pm.
Attendees will be able to enjoy the live performances accompanied by a choice of reception cocktail and a delicious four-course menu. Choose from a tantalising selection of grilled dishes such as grilled peach with cured ham, almonds and olives to start, followed by grilled sea trout with new potatoes, samphire and cucumber beurre blanc. For pre-dessert, savour a refreshing gin and tonic ice lolly, and finally for dessert indulge in a chocolate tart with honeycomb, burnt English cream, or a selection of English cheese with a fig and pickled walnut chutney.
Elegant wines are available by the glass and bottle, providing the perfect pairing with dishes on the menu or try a premium bespoke cocktail created by Hepple’s Cocktail and Spirit Creator, Nick Strangeway handcrafted with skill using seasonal ingredients, botanicals and herbs grown on Fenwick’s roof.
Once the meals are finished guests can relax in their seats and enjoy the music. Support acts will start at 8pm, with the main acts starting at 8.30pm. The event will end around 9.15pm.
The Summer Rooftop Sessions will host a range of artists that are stripped back, relaxed and upbeat. All artists who have been chosen are from the local region and include:
THURSDAY- Vandebilt, originally from Sunderland, mix electro pop with strong funk and soul influences.
FRIDAY- Smoove & Turrell are Newcastle’s own purveyors of “Northern Funk”, with a contemporary fusion of funk, soul, northern soul, hip-hop and electronica.
SATURDAY- Cortney Dixon is the Newcastle singer songwriter who is heavily influenced by artists such as Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Kate Bush and Sharon Van Etten.
Local support agency for local artists based in the North East, Generator, will be programming the support acts, providing them with valuable experience of performing to a live audience as part of a paid engagement.
