DWF, the global provider of integrated legal and business services, has bolstered its employment offering with the appointment of employment and business immigration expert Roisin Patton, as a new partner in Newcastle.
Roisin joins DWF from Ward Hadaway, where she held the position of employment and business immigration partner in their Newcastle employment team. Roisin has a wealth of experience in all aspects of employment law, including business protection, restrictive covenants, and risk management. Her expertise includes defending employers in employment tribunal claims, advising on redundancies and restructures, and providing strategic guidance on TUPE and union recognition. Roisin is an experienced business immigration lawyer and is well-known for advising employers on the increasingly complex sponsorship and visa system in the UK.
Roisin’s appointment adds further depth to an already strong employment team and expands DWF’s top tier rated immigration practice, in recognition of the growing importance of this area of law and commitment to supporting clients with their business immigration needs.
Joanne Frew, Global Head of Employment and Pensions at DWF, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Roisin to our growing employment practice. Roisin brings with her a rich knowledge of important issues in the employment sector that expands our team’s expertise and strengthens our already robust client offering.”
Lee Pickett, Office Managing Partner for Newcastle, said: “We are delighted to welcome Roisin to the employment team at our Newcastle office. Her local industry knowledge and reputation enhances DWF’s growing presence in the region and showcases our commitment to providing innovative and pragmatic solutions for our clients.”
Roisin added: “I am thrilled to join DWF at such a dynamic part in its growth journey and look forward to collaborating with the talented employment team to navigate complex employment and business immigration matters. The expected upcoming changes in employment law will create new challenges and opportunities for businesses, making it an especially exciting time to be working in this area.”
