Newcastle Eagles are guaranteed to give their rivals food for thought after securing this season’s tastiest franchise-wide sponsorship.
Opponents will know all about new men’s and women’s sponsor Perco Foods by the time they’ve chased Newcastle’s success-hungry stars for 40 minutes.
And that’s because the North East food distributor is the new name on the back of both the men’s and women’s shorts for the 2024/25 campaign.
“We’re very pleased to give our support to the Newcastle Eagles for the forthcoming season,” said Daniel Baike-Ghazvini, Director, Perco Foods.
“The Eagles are the most successful team in the history of British basketball and they’re a club with a proud sporting history.
“They’ve forged strong links with local communities and also promote big initiatives to drive health and wellbeing — especially with children — through basketball across the North East.
“That makes Newcastle an attractive club to support and we’re looking forward to developing our relationship during the current season and, hopefully, beyond.”
Perco Foods have been at the forefront of the food service sector since 1996.
Based in Stockton-on-Tees, they’re one of the leading QSR (quick-service restaurant) food importers and distributors in the UK.
Working with leading brands such as Lamb Weston and McCain, Perco distributes QSR products to a network of more than 150 wholesalers across Great Britain.
“It’s great to have Perco Foods come in and support the teams in this way,” added Paul Blake, Managing Director, Newcastle Eagles.
“It means a lot to the organisation when a partner chooses to support both our men’s and women’s teams.
“It’s an exciting time to get involved with our sport and I’m confident Perco Foods will experience the benefit of working alongside us this season.
Super League Basketball tips-off this Friday night at the Vertu Motors Arena when the Eagles will step onto court in their new Reebok kits with Perco Foods taking pride of place on the back of Newcastle’s shorts — home and away.
The Eagles’ latest sponsors are a familiar name in North East sport thanks to a longstanding partnership with Middlesbrough Football Club.
And it’s rumoured Newcastle’s ballers could well join Michael Carrick’s Boro stars for some light-hearted competition later this season. Watch this space!
