Hooked On Group
Hooked On Group is a renowned hospitality group dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences across the North East. With a passion for sustainability, inclusivity, and employee well-being, they operate a collection of award-winning restaurants, including Blackfriars, Dobson & Parnell, and Hinnies.
Blackfriars is located in a 13th century medieval friary in the heart of Newcastle and was named the Taste of England in the North East England Tourism Awards 2018.
With its Dominican origins dating back to 1239, and a long and turbulent history that included a spell as a hostel for King Henry III, as a former inner-city monastery, Blackfriars is undeniably unique. The 80-seat restaurant serves guests traditional-British cooking with local seasonal produce often straight from the nearby farms and markets.
Located next to the main restaurant Blackfriars’ ornate medieval Banquet Hall seats 50 people for events and weddings and a cookery school and tasting room space for demonstrations and tasting events such as wine, beer, whisky and gin. We also have the cloister garden space outside, which hosts a seating area for alfresco dining in summer months for up to 16 guests.
Dobson and Parnell on Newcastle Quayside specialises in refined British and European cuisine and is owned by award-winning restaurateur Andy Hook who also runs Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle and Hinnies Restaurant in Whitley Bay.
Set within a Victorian Grade II listed building, the elegant high-ceilinged dining room is open six days a week serving lunch and dinner.
Hinnies, located in Whitley Bay is a relaxed, warm and friendly restaurant serving the comfort food we all like to eat – rustic and hearty Geordie-influenced classics made properly from scratch using local and seasonal produce to give a real taste of our beloved North East.
