Newcastle’s finest shopping and dining destination, Eldon Square, has recently welcomed an established Newcastle classic, The Back Page, as its new kiosk-style store has opened this month. From official Newcastle United merchandise to football-inspired t-shirts and caps, The Back Page has it all, making it the perfect shopping destination for any visitor looking for high-quality souvenirs or gifts.
Established by local football lover, Mick Edmondson, in 2003 The Back Page has been a vital part of the Newcastle community for nearly 21 years, opening its first shop on St Andrews Street near China Town in 2003. With its latest store opening in Eldon Square, The Back Page is excited to provide more customers with their unique product offering.
Located between M&S and John Lewis & Partners, the kiosk-style store specialises in all things Black and White – including Geordie-themed gifts, clothing, accessories and Newcastle United official merchandise, as well as an exclusive range of greeting cards. And with many local sporting heroes, from Olympic gold medalists to World Cup winners having shopped at The Back Page, it’s the place to be for any sporting fanatics!
The Back Page’s new store will also exemplify their community-focused approach, whereby they focus on employing local people and working alongside local companies and charities.
Cormac Hamilton, General Manager at Eldon Square, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome The Back Page to Eldon Square. The store brings a new wide offering of products to Eldon Square’s retail mix. The dedication to community aligns perfectly with Eldon Square’s values, and we are confident that our local community will embrace this exciting new addition.”
Martin Henderson, Area Manager at The Back Page, added: “It’s been an absolute blast opening at Eldon Square! We’ve received a really warm welcome and are already loving greeting more of our lovely Newcastle community as they pop by to the new store.”
