New Travel Trade website launched at World Travel Market

A new website dedicated to Travel Trade professional looking to plan a trip to North East England will be launched at the World Travel Market in London this week.

The new website features information on accommodation, travel and bookable products.

Trade will also find a useful toolkit with promotional copy; an online image library and the latest news from the region.

The North East’s Travel Trade strategy is being developed as part of Destination North East England, England’s first Destination Development Partnership (DDP), a groundbreaking pilot, worth £2.25 million, awarded to the North East by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

The DDP is led by NewcastleGateshead Initiative (NGI) in partnership with Visit Northumberland and Visit County Durham on behalf of all seven local authorities.

Travel Trade Manager at NGI, Alex MacKenzie said: “We are delighted to launch our new website at World Travel Market. Now we have something where buyers can go to get everything they need to start planning a trip to the region. Whether they know anything about the North East or not this website can give them the up to date information on what is available in our fantastic region.

“With this new website and the work we are doing to establish new relationships and partnerships with the travel trade across our key markets, we will be able to put the North East firmly on the visitor map.”

The North East will be on the UKinbound stand N7-210 at World Travel Market with Kynren, the UK’s largest outdoor theatre show which tells the “Epic story of England” and Auckland Palace and Faith Museum, once home to the Prince Bishop’s of Durham.
