This week (Monday 30 September) North East Mayor Kim McGuinness and Destination North East England hosted new tourism minister Sir Chris Bryant at Newcastle College’s Chef Academy to showcase the region’s growth plans and potential for visitor economy.
The dinner held at Newcastle College’s Chef’s Academy, saw students from the college preparing and serving food to more than 30 guests including our world-class universities, colleges, industry and government.
The visit comes as Destination North East England enters the final year of delivering the first-ever Destination Development Partnership pilot in England after receiving £2.25 million from the Department for Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS) in 2021.
